Please keep the family and friends of Mary Jo Cypher, 89, of Leechburg PA. Mary Jo passed away peacefully on April 5, 2025 at QLS-Sarver, where she has resided for 8 years. Born January 9, 1936, in Gilpin Township, PA, she was the daughter of Lester E. and Virginia N. Rimel (Higginson). Mary Jo graduated from Leechburg High School, where she enjoyed being a majorette. She was also co-owner of the Pike Restaurant for 25 years with her late ex-husband, Donald “Jake” Cypher where she enjoyed serving drinks and food to customers and live entertainment. Mary Jo enjoyed playing darts with her friends in Lower Burrell, shopping, getting her hair done, reminiscing about her youth and holidays with her family. Mary Jo had resided at QLS-Sarver where she will be truly missed by many staff for her feisty and no-nonsense personality. Surviving is her son, Gary L. Cypher of Cabot; loving cousin, Mary Jo Hepburn, grandchildren: Gary Cypher (Christina), Nicole Pettigrew (Benjamin), Alysha Cypher, Franklin J. Petrusik and Tye Cypher (Michelle); great-grandchildren: Makenzie, Jacob, Evelyn, Loralei, Arden and Laine. Mary Jo was preceded in death by her daughter, Cherie L. Cypher and her son-in-law, Franklin T. Petrusik. All burial services will be private.
